Hannah planted this sunflower from a seed back in the spring. Oh, how it has grown! We have enjoyed watching it's progress (once we figured out that that particular sprout was a sunflower, since they weren't labeled). Now it is huge...
I'm not sure why it is drooping...anybody have any suggestions? Also, we'd love to be able to make sunflower seeds to eat...any suggestions for that?

They just droop. I don't know why. I think they do that towards the end of their growing period before the seeds dry up. Have you noticed that the head of the flower follows the sun across the sky during the day? (Or maybe yours drooped prematurely and missed the sun) I tried one year to make a sunflower-walled "room" for the kids outside but, unfortunately my sunflowers were... well, let's just say that I grew a pretty sparse baseboard. Haha! Maybe I'll try again sometime!
Great sunflower, Hannah!
